Productions announced today that the long revered martial
art of “Muay
Thai” kickboxing will take place at New York’s legendary
Beacon Theatre in the Battle at the Beacon on Friday, July 8
at 7:30 p.m.
This exciting form of stand up fighting has
exploded in popularity, with more NY residents now training
in the ancient martial art than ever before. With a venue
capacity of nearly 2,900, Battle at the Beacon will
represent the largest
Muay Thai
kickboxing ever sanctioned by the WKA in New York City.
The top strikers from all of the premiere Tri-State area
gyms will be competing on this fight card, which will also
feature a mixture of the very best Muay Thai practitioners
both nationally and internationally.

TaKe On Productions, New York’s top
full contact fight promotion has created the biggest Muay
Thai kickboxing event in NYC history. The inaugural Battle
at the Beacon event will be highlighted by two exciting
Title Fights. Kru Phil Nurse’s Muay Thai prodigy Nick
Vaughan (10-1) challenges the defending North American WKA
Super Middleweight amateur Champion Gaiuss Ebratt (13-1).
Another amateur title bout on the card will feature New York
fan favorite Jay Matias (16-4) challenging Brandon Mickens
(25-7; and training partner of “The Ultimate Fighter” season
7 winner Amir Sadollah) for Mickens’ WKA North American
Super Lightweight belt.

consecutive show in Queens, we knew we were ready to take
our brand to the next level. Take On Productions is thrilled

acclaimed martial art of Muay Thai kickboxing to the

The Battle at the Beacon will
showcase representatives from sixteen of the top New York
area gyms in addition to top fighters from around the states
and abroad. The night’s bouts will also feature the long
awaited professional debuts of Andy Singh (a: 23-0) and Eric
Ruiz (a: 9-4) in a rematch of the most epic amateur battle
of 2010. Other professional bouts include: Eddie Martinez
(p: 1-0-1,a: 26-4) versus Turan Hasanov (p: 3-3,a: 29-6),
Sean Hinds (13-5) versus Douglas Edwards (9-5), and Omar
Ahmed (p: 4-3, a: 26-2) versus the more experienced K-1
fighter Nisvet Sivac. Sivac comes from Holland from Haarlem
Gym, he has twice the Pro experience as Ahmed with over 20
pro fights to his name, seven wins by Knockout. The event
will also showcase the top amateur female talent in the
sport, including Laurel Holloway (5-0) versus Laurie
Hyacinthe (3-0), Jessica Ng (4-2) versus Ani Hilditch (3-2).
