Another amateur title bout on the card will feature New York fan favorite Jay Matias (16-4) challenging Brandon Mickens (25-7; and training partner of “The Ultimate Fighter” season 7 winner Amir Sadollah) for Mickens’ WKA North American Super Lightweight belt.

“After we sold out our 8th consecutive show in Queens, we knew we were ready to take our brand to the next level. Take On Productions is thrilled to be the first promoter to bring the internationally acclaimed martial art of Muay Thai kickboxing to the historic Beacon Theatre. It’s a dream come true for us and the athletes.” said company CEO Mike Gasparski.
“We are excited to host an evening of Muay Thai kickboxing for the first time in the history of the legendary Beacon Theatre,” said Scott O'Neil, president, MSG Sports. “The versatile theatre is no stranger to sporting events having previously hosted professional boxing, and we are always looking for new events to host at our venues. As we await the sanctioning of mixed martial arts in New York, we’re sure the excitement of Muay Thai will deliver a truly electric atmosphere for fans.”

“With Mixed Martial Arts not sanctioned yet in New York, Muay Thai kickboxing is the closest New York combat sports fans can get to that exciting sport – and to fans that prefer stand up battles, Thai boxing is even more exciting” added company President Eddie Cuello.

The Battle at the Beacon will showcase representatives from sixteen of the top New York area gyms in addition to top fighters from around the states and abroad. The night’s bouts will also feature the long awaited professional debuts of Andy Singh (a: 23-0) and Eric Ruiz (a: 9-4) in a rematch of the most epic amateur battle of 2010.
